Banking, eUSD and telecoms: Telcoin builds the foundations of its future

Telcoin has reached major milestones, including a US banking charter and the eUSD stablecoin, but its TEL token remains 97% below its record, illustrating the gap between regulation and real adoption.

Recent regulatory milestones

In less than a year, Telcoin has reached several unprecedented milestones for a crypto project: a Nebraska digital asset banking charter, the launch of the eUSD stablecoin, the first US bank accounts linked to this token and an appearance at the Mobile World Congress in Doha. The charter, granted in November 2025, makes Telcoin Digital Asset Bank the first fully supervised digital asset depository institution in the United States, authorized under Nebraska's Digital Asset Depository Institution Act. This authorization allows insured bank accounts to be connected to a regulated stablecoin, creating a bridge between traditional finance and on-chain payments.

The eUSD stablecoin, launched in December 2025, follows the GENIUS Act of 2025, which requires that only approved entities may issue payment stablecoins. As a subsidiary of a state bank, Telcoin can issue up to 10 billion dollars in tokens with reserves backed 1:1 by ultra-safe assets and regular audits. This compliance places Telcoin among the first players operating under a state framework compatible with future US federal supervision.

Performance of the TEL token

Despite this progress, the TEL token has suffered a sharp decline. As of September 4, 2026, it was trading around $0.00177, approximately 97% below its all-time high of $0.0649. On September 14, the price was $0.0016, with daily volume of roughly $842,000 and a market capitalization ranked 141st. The Fear & Greed sentiment index stood at 30, indicating fear territory. In November 2025, news of the banking charter had sent TEL up 75% and taken its market capitalization above 515 million dollars, but those gains were not sustained over the long term.

The gap between regulatory milestones and the token price is explained primarily by the absence of real usage. Telcoin promises an EVM-compatible mainnet validated by telecom operators belonging to the GSMA, but the launch scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 has not yet taken place. Without actual money transfer volume, investors remain cautious, and the market does not reward regulatory authorizations alone.

Implications for Europe and the outlook

The eUSD stablecoin also fits into the European context. Telcoin has registered a virtual asset service provider license in Lithuania, and the regulated dollar token is drawing European regulators' attention in the context of MiCA. As of the first day of July 2026, ESMA counted 244 MiCA-authorized platforms, and tokens such as eUSD are closely monitored for compliance with reserve and audit requirements. This dynamic shows that the project aims to position itself as a transatlantic bridge between the American and European frameworks.

The next crucial step for Telcoin remains the launch of its mainnet and activation of the first money transfer corridors. An appearance scheduled at the Mobile World Congress in Doha from 8 to 10 November 2026, alongside the GSMA, should help secure support from mobile operators. If these partnerships materialize, the TEL token could regain positive momentum, but as long as the network is not operational and the volume of transfers through the network remains low, the price will stay under pressure.
