Gravity Alpha reaches its announced November 1 retirement date

The official schedule calls for Gravity Alpha Mainnet to shut down permanently on November 1. Help documents distinguish that date from earlier bridge and staking deadlines, without establishing an actual shutdown time.

The legacy network reaches its deadline

November 1, 2026 is the announced end date for operations on Gravity Alpha Mainnet, the Gravity ecosystem's legacy network. Official Galxe documents, checked again Sunday, retain that deadline and warn that assets left on Alpha will no longer be transferable after shutdown. However, the pages examined provide no shutdown hour. The documented deadline therefore does not certify that the network has actually stopped producing blocks at a particular moment.

The announcement is older: Galxe's blog post is dated July 22, while the help center lists a July 21 announcement and an October 19 update. The development is the arrival of the scheduled date, not a launch announced today. Gravity Alpha was a layer-two network. Gravity L1 Mainnet is described as its already operational successor, rather than a new chain scheduled to start this Sunday.

The bridge had a different deadline

The timetable separates several operations. The updated help page sets October 23 as the deadline for moving non-G tokens, including USDT, USDC and ETH, through Stargate. It then lists October 26 at 03:00 UTC for closure of the native bridge and G Staking page. Those dates precede the network's own deadline. Presenting November 1 as a normal final day to initiate any migration would therefore be misleading.

That distinction also matters for withdrawals already initiated. The guide explains that the canonical route carries a seven-day waiting period and that existing requests are not accelerated by Fast Withdraw. The documentation describes that option as a faster route for new transfers before its own deadline. Its presence on a help page establishes neither that the service remains usable now nor that a late holder has a guaranteed recovery route.

Two environments that must remain distinct

Contracts for Galxe quests, including loyalty points and rewards, have migrated to Gravity L1, according to the official guide. For direct-wallet users, the documentation explains that these operations look for G held on L1; a balance on Alpha is not recognized as the same usable balance. For developers of applications, bots or scripts, the transition also concerns network configuration, rather than merely the name displayed in an interface.

The sources warn that assets will become nontransferable after Alpha shuts down, but they are neither an accounting of remaining balances nor proof those balances have been destroyed. They also guarantee no refund or technical remedy after closure. What still needs checking is each network's actual situation and subsequent official communications. Galxe directs unresolved questions to support; this article does not assume an old tutorial still provides an available route.
