Kalshi announces one billion dollars in funding at a $40 billion valuation
The Series G, co-led by Wellington and Sequoia, is intended to fund expansion beyond prediction markets. Kalshi's highlighted volume and revenue figures include annualized run rates.

A Series G announced as completed
Kalshi announced a Series G of one billion dollars on October 29, 2026, at a $40 billion post-money valuation. Wellington and Sequoia co-lead the financing alongside other institutional investors. The release confirms a funding round, whereas earlier information concerned efforts to raise capital. That distinction between a financing intention and an announced completed transaction is the new development: the figures no longer describe only a hypothetical negotiating target.
Post-money valuation reflects the terms of this private round. It is neither Kalshi's cash balance nor a market capitalization continuously established on an exchange. The one billion dollars raised and $40 billion valuation cannot be added as two available resources. Investors acquire a stake on the round's terms; customer contract markets are a different activity. Company financing must therefore remain separate from capital committed by its users.
Prediction markets underpin a broader offering
Kalshi presents the funding as a way to build a more diversified financial platform. It plans to develop indices, single-stock perpetual futures, and compute markets while continuing prediction markets. It also discusses institutional participants' needs, including distribution, liquidity, and product development. These plans must be distinguished from contracts actually accessible today: a financing announcement alone does not open every new market family.
The company highlights its S&P partnership to develop indices based on prediction markets. An event contract expresses a position on an outcome defined by its rules; an index or derivative referencing other assets has a different construction. The proposed expansion does not automatically make those instruments equivalent. Settlement, access, and risk terms must be examined individually, especially where an offering includes leverage.
Growth metrics are expressed as annualized run rates
Kalshi says annualized volume exceeds one trillion dollars and annualized non-sports revenue exceeds one billion dollars. These metrics extrapolate an observed pace; they are not a statement of sums necessarily traded or collected across a full year. The release uses them to demonstrate activity beyond sports events. Comparing them with annual accounts requires preserving that methodological and time-period difference rather than treating them as audited twelve-month revenue.
The company also plans international expansion investments, especially in Europe and Latin America. That ambition remains subject to applicable frameworks and local distribution arrangements. An announced global presence does not mean residents of every country can already use all products. The financing supplies resources without proving future adoption. Next milestones will be launches actually authorized, liquidity, and measured contributions to results beyond growth rates presented during fundraising.
