US XRP ETFs return to net inflows, led by Franklin Templeton

American spot XRP ETFs collected approximately $4.25 million in net inflows over the last week followed. This return of inflows remains concentrated and is not enough to reverse the token's price.

The Return of Inflows

American funds exposed to XRP returned to a positive subscription balance for the week ended October 22 and 23, according to the tracking presented by Crypto Briefing. The balance reaches approximately $4.25 million in net inflows, after withdrawals the previous week. The recovery therefore concerns a weekly period; the sessions of October 21 and 22 constitute its components. Presenting them as a two-day week would distort the perimeter of the announced figure.

The term "net" is essential: it designates the capital brought to the funds after deduction of withdrawals. It does not record all share purchases made on the Stock Exchange. A share can change owner on the secondary market without creation of a new share of the fund. The flows thus inform on the evolution of subscriptions in these products, while the transaction volume describes exchange activity. These two measures can evolve differently during the same session.

A Collection Concentrated at XRPZ

XRPZ, the Franklin Templeton fund, played a major role in the return of inflows, while the Bitwise product recorded movements in both directions and globally neutral activity. This distribution prevents speaking of a uniform influx at all issuers. It also does not allow identifying subscribers. Aggregated data do not, by themselves, say what proportion of the capital comes from individuals, intermediaries, or large investors.

Choosing a listed fund allows taking a financial exposure to XRP via a securities account, without directly managing the keys of a blockchain wallet. This does not eliminate the risk of the crypto asset's decline. The holder owns shares of the product, with its rules of operation and its fees; he does not use the underlying XRP to perform operations on the network. The fund structure and the use of the token answer different objectives.

Positive Flows, Price Still Exposed

The return of subscriptions did not produce a lasting recovery of XRP in the period described by Crypto Briefing. The token's price and the amounts invested in the funds do not overlap. Direct transactions, derivative positions, and arbitrage between assets also participate in price formation. Positive collection in ETFs can therefore coexist with a weak market. It constitutes information on an investment channel, without summarizing the whole demand.

The value of a fund's assets depends both on the capital that enters or leaves it and on the evolution of the price of its holdings. An outstanding balance lower than cumulative net subscriptions therefore does not imply that the difference has been withdrawn: a devaluation can explain it in part. To follow these products, it is necessary to compare periods and consistent perimeters. Weekly collection, the outstanding balance on a given date, and the return of shares each provide different information.
