The XRP Ledger reaches 8.24 million addresses with a balance, not counting that many users
Santiment records a new high of non-empty addresses on the XRP Ledger. This growth measures funded accounts, not identified persons, and does not guarantee a recovery of the XRP price.

A record of funded addresses
The XRP Ledger counts 8.24 million addresses holding a balance, according to Santiment data presented by Cointribune on October 25. The total reaches a new high in this series, despite a difficult period for the XRP price. The report also shows a daily increase in new accounts. These data provide an indicator on the evolution of the network, but the total number of addresses and the activity observed on a single day do not describe the same thing.
An address with a balance is counted even if it does not make a transfer during the period. The total can therefore progress without a proportional increase in the number of active accounts each day. Conversely, a limited number of addresses can produce many operations. The amounts held also count: a small address and a heavily funded account each weigh one unit in this count. The record describes the presence of funded accounts, not an equal distribution of activity or assets.
Why an account is not a person
A single user can control several addresses to organize their storage, payments, or market operations. A platform can, conversely, keep the funds of many clients in a reduced number of accounts. The real identity of the holders is therefore not read directly in the total of addresses. Using this figure as an exact number of new investors would attribute to the data a precision they do not possess. The growth of accounts constitutes a useful benchmark, provided this limit is kept.
On the XRP Ledger, services can use destination identifiers to link a deposit to the right client within a common account. The address indicates where to send the operation; the identifier allows the service to recognize the internal beneficiary. This organization explains how a single address can represent several clients. It also shows why the storage structure chosen by intermediaries influences the statistics visible on the network, without a change in this total necessarily corresponding to as many individual arrivals or departures.
Activity does not predict the price
The progression of addresses does not automatically cause an increase in the XRP price. The quantities bought, sales, liquidity, and positions on other markets also intervene in the quotation. A new account can receive tokens already held by the same person, without additional purchase. Price projections associated with address thresholds therefore remain analyst scenarios. They should not be transformed into an expected result of the protocol's operation.
To appreciate the use of the XRP Ledger, tracking can bring together active addresses, transfers, volumes, and application activity. Each of these indicators has its scope and method. A sustainable evolution over several measures provides more context than an isolated record. The passage to 8.24 million addresses shows that the number of funded accounts continues to widen; it does not, on its own, allow determining who controls them, the purpose of their operations, or the next direction of the market.
