Strategy shareholders approve daily dividends for four preferred securities
The October 28 vote paves the way for a new schedule for STRC, STRF, STRK and STRD. The regulatory filing explains effectiveness conditions and ex-dividend rules around weekends.

Approval followed by effectiveness formalities
Strategy said in a Form 8-K dated October 28, 2026, that the required vote had been obtained, based on preliminary results, to permit daily dividends on four preferred stock classes. These are STRF, STRC, STRK and STRD. The vote concerned amendments to their certificates of designations, the documents setting out those securities' characteristics. The filing does not present daily distributions as already operational at the time of the meeting.
The schedule remains subject to the filing and effectiveness of the amended certificates. Strategy anticipates implementation from November 1, 2026, for STRC, followed by January 1, 2027, for STRF, STRK and STRD. The securities would then have a dividend record date on every calendar day, including weekends and holidays. Those dates do not mean a bank transfer would necessarily reach every holder's account on every day.
Entitlements combined when markets are closed
For shares cleared through The Depository Trust Company, or DTC, a record date falling on a weekend or another DTC holiday will be treated as falling on the last preceding day when DTC is open. Strategy also describes ex-dividend rules applying to Nasdaq-traded shares. The ex-dividend date marks when a security begins trading without entitlement to a particular dividend. These mechanics determine entitlements around a purchase or sale.
The filing provides a specific example: dividends relating to November 6, November 7 and November 8, 2026, a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, would share a record date of Friday, November 6. They would be paid together on Monday, November 9. Because settlement takes one business day, Strategy expects a purchase executed on Friday the 6th to carry entitlement to none of the three dividends, while a sale that Friday would leave those entitlements with the seller.
Separate the schedule from return and risk
Strategy says treatment may differ for shares that do not clear through DTC or trade on other venues, particularly those offering transactions during customary market closures. Broker rules can also change a holder's experience. The appropriate approach is therefore to examine the calendar alongside the actual trading, clearing and settlement chain. The announced frequency alone cannot establish the entitlements attached to an individual transaction.
The change concerns preferred shares issued by Strategy, a company known for its bitcoin treasury strategy. It does not transform these securities into bitcoins, bank deposits or risk-free products. More frequent payment does not, by itself, demonstrate a higher return. The new information is preliminary approval of a different distribution framework. Implementation still depends on the announced formalities and on how it operates among the parties involved. Holders need to check the arrangements applicable at their own intermediary.
