CoinShares Zcash ETP trades in Paris after same-day suspension and resumption

CoinShares announces ZCSH, a physically ZEC-backed product trading in euros. Euronext notices dated October 28 show a suspension followed by a resumption: trading should not be described as still halted.

ZEC exposure through a brokerage account

CoinShares announced the launch of the CoinShares Zcash ETP on Euronext Paris on October 28, 2026. The product has ticker ZCSH and ISIN GB00BNRRG954. It trades in euros and, according to the issuer's published specifications, is 100% backed by ZEC held in institutional custody. This structure allows a security providing exposure to Zcash's token to be traded through a brokerage account, without directly managing a blockchain wallet or personal private keys.

The issuer lists an annual management fee of 1.50%. This charge is a product characteristic and should be distinguished from ZEC's market price, potential broker fees and the bid-ask spread. Physical backing describes assets held for the product; it guarantees neither price stability, permanent liquidity nor an absence of operating risk. The listed security and personal ownership of ZEC remain different forms of exposure.

The suspension was followed by a resumption notice

The product's Euronext page contains two notices effective October 28: one suspending trading and one resuming it. The material reviewed, reproduced in Journal du Coin's coverage, also shows continuous-trading status following that sequence. It would therefore be inaccurate to repeat only the initial alert and announce, without the update, that the product remains suspended. Both decisions form part of the same trading-day sequence and must be read together.

Journal du Coin reports, citing Euronext, that the interruption concerned settlement requirements at the central securities depository. That explanation remains attributed to the report; it does not demonstrate an incident on the Zcash blockchain or a loss of underlying assets. A market suspension can concern the operation of trading and settlement for the security. By itself, it cannot establish that the token's protocol or the product's custody was compromised.

Network privacy does not change the security's nature

Zcash offers transparent transactions and an option for shielded transactions using zero-knowledge proofs. Privacy is therefore not uniform across all operations on the network. CoinShares presents its product as an access route to this exposure for investors already using a financial intermediary. Buying the security does not, however, mean personally carrying out a private transaction on Zcash: the investor acquires an instrument within a separate market and custody framework.

To correctly identify the product, its ticker, ISIN, currency and listing venue should be checked against the issuer's documentation and the latest market notice. These details also help prevent confusion between an earlier suspension and the subsequent situation. The new information therefore combines an announced launch with a trading episode that has already been updated. It is not a ZEC price forecast and provides no basis for promising returns linked to the network's privacy features.
